In their own words
Chiang Mai
My grandfather's Seiko had been sitting in a drawer for years — I wasn't sure it was worth doing anything with. Pradit opened it, explained what they found, and asked before touching anything further. Got it back running steadily after about three weeks. I wasn't expecting to feel anything particular when I put it on, but I did.

Quick quartz service for my daily watch. Battery changed, seal checked, case cleaned up properly. Took two days. The price was exactly as quoted and the watch is running as it should. Nothing dramatic — just a job done well. I'll come back when the time comes.

I'd taken my ETA-based automatic to two other shops in town and was told it needed a full overhaul both times, but with different quotes and no real explanation. Pradit actually showed me the timing machine results before and after. The rate improved significantly. I appreciated the transparency — it's not something I'd experienced at other places here.

My late mother's watch had a cracked crystal and the movement hadn't run for years. I was worried it couldn't be saved, or that it would come back looking different from how I remembered it. The team was patient when I dropped it off and explained each option clearly. It came back exactly as I hoped — running well, and still looking like her watch.

Was in Chiang Mai for a month and brought my GMT to Pradit for a service. Communication was good in English. The watch was ready within the time given. My only note is that the turn-around on automatic work could take longer than expected during busier periods — but this was mentioned at drop-off, which I appreciated.

Chiang Rai
I drove in from Chiang Rai specifically because a friend recommended Pradit. Had a 1970s dress watch that needed attention — it had been sitting unworn for at least a decade. The documentation I received was something I didn't expect but genuinely valued. Good work, fair price, no fuss.

Case Study 01
A 1968 domestic automatic — running 4 minutes fast per day
Challenge
The watch had never been serviced — still on its original lubricants after 57 years. The mainspring showed fatigue and the balance was running erratically, particularly in vertical positions.
Approach
Full movement disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, individual part inspection. Mainspring replaced. Balance wheel and escapement adjusted. Regulation carried out across five positions over several days.
Result
Settled to within +4 seconds per day across positions. Owner collected with timing machine printout and a written note of what was done. Watch worn daily since.

Daily quartz — stopped after contact corrosion from a leaking battery
Challenge
A common issue — a battery had been left beyond its rated life and leaked, leaving green corrosion on both battery contacts. The movement had stopped entirely.
Approach
Contacts cleaned and treated. Battery compartment assessed for further corrosion. Fresh battery fitted. Seal checked and gasket replaced. Water resistance confirmed by pressure test.
Result
Watch fully operational. Turnaround two days. Customer advised on recommended battery change intervals to prevent recurrence.

Case Study 03
Sentimental piece — restoration without losing its character
Challenge
A watch inherited from a family member, worn and faded but meaningful. The owner specifically did not want heavy polishing or any intervention that would erase the worn patina of the case.
Approach
Movement overhauled fully. Case lightly cleaned but brushed surfaces left as found, polished surfaces touched only where needed. Dial cleaned carefully without compromising age markings. Crown replaced.
Result
Movement running well. Case appearance preserved as requested. Documentation prepared noting everything that was and wasn't changed. Returned with written record after six weeks.
