A watchmaker's studio, shaped by patience
Pradit began in 2011 when Khun Pradit Wanarak, a watchmaker trained in Chiang Mai and later in Switzerland, returned home with a simple intention: to offer Chiang Mai a place where timepieces were worked on slowly and well. The name of the studio is also his name — a reminder that behind every watch that passes through here, there is one person taking responsibility for the outcome.
Over the years the studio has become a quiet corner of Nimmanhaemin Road that regulars return to — sometimes with a watch in hand, sometimes just to talk about movements and mechanisms. Pradit has serviced pieces ranging from department-store quartz to Swiss complications, and the approach stays consistent across all of them: understand the watch, communicate openly, and work carefully.
The studio does not take on more work than it can handle well. Timelines are honest. If something unexpected comes up inside a movement, you'll hear about it before we proceed. That directness, we've found, is what keeps people coming back.

Pradit Wanarak
Founder & Watchmaker
Over fifteen years working on mechanical and quartz movements, with training in Chiang Mai and further study abroad. Specialises in automatic regulation and careful restoration of vintage pieces.
Nanthipha Kamol
Studio Coordinator
Manages customer communications, bookings, and the documentation that accompanies restoration work. Nanthipha ensures nothing is left unclear — for the customer or for the watchmaker.
Somchai Chaidet
Assistant Technician
Works under Pradit's supervision on quartz servicing and case preparation. Currently completing formal watchmaking studies and brings a careful, deliberate approach to every task.
How We Work
Our standards in the studio
Precise Assessment
Every watch is inspected thoroughly before any work begins. We note its condition, identify what is needed, and share our findings with the customer plainly.
Careful Handling
Watches are held in a secure workspace and handled only by those responsible for the work. Cases are protected during servicing and finished surfaces treated with care.
Proper Lubricants
We use manufacturer-specified lubricants for each movement type — the right oil in the right place at the right quantity. No shortcuts in this area.
Timing Verification
After regulation, we check timekeeping across multiple positions using a timing machine and confirm results before returning the watch. We share the readings on request.
Water Resistance Testing
For rated watches, we test water resistance after sealing. Where gaskets need renewing, we discuss it first and use appropriate replacements for the case design.
Written Documentation
Restoration work is accompanied by written notes of what was found, what was done, and what parts were replaced or renewed. This record stays with the customer.

Chiang Mai has a watchmaking tradition that often goes unnoticed — tucked into small studios on side streets and in lanes behind the main shopping areas. Pradit sits within that tradition while remaining accessible on Nimmanhaemin Road, where the studio occupies a measured, unhurried space suited to the kind of work we do.
Quartz movements are often underestimated in their complexity. Contact corrosion, dried lubricants, and degraded seals can affect even a simple quartz piece in ways that a fresh battery alone cannot address. Our Quartz Care Service exists because we believe daily-wear watches deserve proper attention, not just a quick battery swap.
Automatic watches demand a higher level of disassembly and reassembly. The balance wheel, escapement, and mainspring all interact in ways that shift with wear, temperature, and position. Regulation is both a technical process and a patient one — and we take the time to do it across multiple positions before we're satisfied.
Vintage and sentimental timepieces carry more than mechanical components. They carry history. Our restoration work acknowledges that — we aim to return a watch to good working order while preserving what makes it distinctively itself. We discuss every decision with the owner before proceeding, and we document what we've done so the record travels with the piece.
