Overview

Six things that shape how we work

One Watchmaker's Hands

Your watch is handled by a single skilled person from intake to completion — not passed between staff members at different stages.

Assessment Before Action

We inspect thoroughly and share our findings before starting. You decide whether to proceed, with full information on what we've found and what we suggest.

Published, Transparent Pricing

Our service prices are clear from the start. Any variation from the standard rate is discussed and agreed before work begins — no end-of-job surprises.

Restraint in Restoration

For vintage or sentimental pieces, we work to preserve rather than erase. We discuss every step and don't make assumptions about what you'd want changed.

Written Work Records

Restoration and service work is documented in writing. The record travels with the watch, adding to its history and giving you something to reference in future.

Realistic Timelines, Kept

We give timeframes we can stand behind. If something needs more time, we tell you why rather than simply returning a later collection date.

In Depth

Each benefit explained

Professional Expertise

Pradit's principal watchmaker has worked on timepieces for over fifteen years, with training that covers both quartz and mechanical movements. This is not generalist repair work — it is focused, continuous practice in a specific craft.

  • Formal watchmaking training and ongoing study
  • Experience across quartz, automatic, and vintage movements
  • Deep familiarity with Swiss and Japanese calibres

"The craft is in knowing what not to do as much as what to do."

This is the disposition that separates attentive watchmaking from transactional repair. At Pradit, decisions about what to replace, refinish, or leave as-is are made deliberately — not by default.

Tools & Method

  • Timing machine verification across multiple positions for regulated movements
  • Water resistance pressure testing for sealed watches after service
  • Manufacturer-specified lubricants applied at appropriate quantities

Technology & Method

Every service at Pradit uses proper watchmaking equipment — not improvised alternatives. A timing machine confirms regulation. A pressure tester verifies water resistance. Lubricants are selected by movement type, not applied universally.

This approach takes longer than a visual inspection and a quick reassembly, but it produces measurably better outcomes — a watch that keeps better time, seals that hold, and mechanisms that move as they should.

Communication & Service

We've found that most concerns people have about leaving a watch for repair come from not knowing what's happening. At Pradit, we address that directly — with a clear assessment at the start, a conversation before any additional work, and notes when the watch is returned.

  • Written assessment summary on request
  • Progress updates for restoration work
  • Post-service advice on care and wear

Service Pricing

Quartz Care Service ฿4,100
Automatic Service & Regulation ฿9,300
Restoration with Care ฿14,000

Value & Pricing

Our prices reflect the time, skill, and materials involved in doing the work properly. They are set at a level that is fair for Chiang Mai and for the quality of the outcome. Nothing is added after the fact without your agreement.

A thorough quartz service or a careful automatic regulation costs more than a cursory pass — but it also produces a watch that works as it should for a longer time. That's the comparison that matters.

What Makes Pradit Distinctive

Specifics that aren't found everywhere

Restoration documentation included

Every full restoration includes a written record of what was found and what was done — a document that adds to the watch's history rather than leaving a gap in it.

Nothing proceeds without your agreement

If we open a case and find something unexpected — a cracked jewel, a corroded part — we pause and call you. No additional work without a conversation first.

Studio-based, not sent away

Your watch stays on Nimmanhaemin Road. We don't use intermediaries or courier services for standard work. You know exactly where it is throughout the process.

Post-regulation timing shared on request

After regulating an automatic, we can share the timing machine results — showing amplitude, beat error, and rate across positions. Some customers find this reassuring; it's yours to ask for.
